How to make the most of your big day

How to make the most of your big day

By Ann Cronin

While we’re sure your wedding day will be one of the best days of your life, here are our tips for ensuring you and your partner can make the most of things and enjoy every minute of your special day.

Night before preparation

Pamper yourself and practice some self-care regimes for the evening. If staying in your venue for your wedding night, have your overnight bag packed and ready to go. For the ladies, ensure you’ve a pair of flat shoes packed for when you want to start dancing. Ensure you get to bed at a somewhat decent hour to ensure you feel your best for the big day.

Morning essentials

The key to success is getting the day off to a good start. Ensure you have a big and nutritious breakfast to keep you energised for all that is to come, and stay hydrated as well. Enjoy a tipple but keep the glasses of champagne to a minimum. Have a schedule made up to ensure you’ve enough time for your getting ready process and follow it to a tee.

Utilise your wedding party

When blips or unanticipated incidents pop up, your bridesmaids and/or groomsmen are there to help. There is no need to add any unnecessary stress onto your workload and your wedding party, as well as family and friends, will be happy to try resolve any unforeseen issues quickly and discretely so that you and your partner don’t have to fret. Bear in mind that no small problems will negatively impact your day too much or take away from the enjoyment, and chances are none of your guests will even notice!

Incorporate some alone time with your partner

This day is, after all, happening because of you and your partner and your lifetime commitment to one another. It can be easy to forget this when in the midst of the hectic celebrations, so be sure to take a moment together to reflect on everything and soak up the atmosphere by yourselves. It will really help in terms of retaining memories of how special and sentimental the day was.

Dance the night away

You have spent months (or maybe years) planning this day and it’s only right that you enjoy it. As the evening kicks in, don’t be afraid to have a few drinks and dance the night away with your guests. Celebrate the success of your day and party on until the early hours of the morning if you wish, just ensure that you are enjoying yourself and making the most of all of your hard work in terms of organizing this amazing day.
