We like to call guests by 5.30pm, starting dinner service
from 6pm. We liaise with the couple to make sure everyone is happy and also
give our advice on what is the best way to proceed depending on the size of the

We try to constantly update our offering in order to provide
the best service and venue for our couples. We have recently completed the

January 2016, we completely renovated our John Broderick Ballroom by opening
the space and fitting new carpet, lighting, paint, curtains, the works!

Can a couple have
their wedding in the hotel or grounds?
Couples certainly can have their wedding in the hotel. We
are a registered venue for Civil Ceremonies.
Couples are more than welcome to use our beautiful grounds
for any other type of ceremony they may like.
We offer the entire hotel to couples on their special day
and really love when it is fully utilised. As we are located on our own private
grounds and gardens, there are many lovely spots around the hotel for
celebrating, for photos, for entertainment and for mingling with all their
There are two suites to choose from for Civil Ceremonies,
the Shannon Suite and the John McCormack Suite.
How many people can
your venue hold?
Our John Broderick Ballroom can cater for up to 280 guests
while our smaller and more intimate Shannon Suite can cater for 120 guests.
In summer 2016, we held a wedding for 380 guests, maximising
our ballroom and adding a beautiful small marquee joined by French doors which
lead from our John Broderick Ballroom to our private gardens.
What makes the
Shamrock Lodge Hotel special as a wedding venue?
The hotel was first established in 1951 and the current
owner, Paddy McCaul bought the premises in 1993.
The hotel is located about a 5-minute walk from where Paddy
was born and his father was a chef here when Princess Grace of Monaco visited
The hotel had huge sentimental value to Paddy and when the
opportunity came up to buy it, he jumped at the chance.
His son Alan has worked alongside him since day 1 and is now
the proud General Manager of the hotel.
The hotel is home for the McCaul family and wedding couples
become part of the family on their special day.

On the Bank Holiday weekend in June 2016, Maureen and Patsy
Mullin celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the hotel. Their reception
