The Meet
This story begins back in 2019 when the pair first encountered each other in L. Mulligan Grocer,
Stoneybatter, Dublin. They had both been attending a concert in the capital when they stumbled across
each other and immediately hit it off. It’s safe to say that sparks were flying in Dublin that night and as
they say themselves “the rest is history”.
The Engagement
On Christmas day Sean and Anton went on a romantic stroll to their favourite spot. As they walked along
by the lake in Doneda Forest, Anton surprised Sean by dropping to one knee and proposing there and
then with a fabulous ring purchased from Commins and Co Jewellers, Dublin. Of course Sean said yes
and the pair spent the rest of the day basking in the joy of receiving the best Christmas present they had
ever gotten, each other.
The Wedding
In December of 2022 they couple kickstarted the Christmas celebrations in style in a fabulous wedding
ceremony and reception in Boyne Hill House Estate, Co. Meath. On the morning of the third of December,
the couple were led up the aisle by their 2 groomsmen and 2 groomsmaids. As “The Book of Love” by Peter Gabriel, and performed by Jenny Cullen Wedding Music, sounded out across the venue, two very handsome men appeared as they walked down the aisle to the timeless tune. While they absorbed the true beauty and romance of the ceremony itself, the guests also took some time to admire the wonderful flower arrangements and décor arranged by the staff of Boyne Hill House Estate.
After the lovebirds said their I do’s and were announced husband and husband, they and their guests
headed for a fabulous meal of roast sirloin of beef or a turkey and ham Christmas dinner. After a very
tasty meal the newlyweds and co hit the dance floor to celebrate the magnificent nuptials by dancing the
night away among family and friends. Anton and Sean shared their first dance to “The Story” by Brandi
Carlile. The pair treated their guests to scratch cards in personalised holders along with a polaroid station to take pictures to remember the special day and a yummy candy cart.
When asked for the main piece of advice that they would impart to any soon to be’s they said, “Enjoy
every minute of it, Don’t sweat the little things and nobody is lying when they tell you your wedding day
flies by!” Following the wedding, the newlyweds enjoyed an exciting trip around the States to celebrate.
How was your experience with Boyne Hill Estate?
“What can we say! We cannot recommend Boyne Hill House Estate enough! We came across the venue
itself through numerous recommendations and 5-star reviews both online and from people we knew. The
staff and management were extremely welcoming right from the planning phases through to the big day
itself. They made us feel right at home from the get-go, listening and taking note of every last detail that
we wanted to ensure our day was extra special! They left no stone unturned and their attention to detail
was exceptional. All of our guests commented how helpful and welcoming all of the staff were and this is
something we can both certainly attest to! Gillian and Claire helped orchestrate our day and knew exactly
what we both wanted which was superb as it allowed us to really relax and just enjoy the day! The venue
itself is absolutely stunning spanning across an estate of 38 acres of what can only be described as a
tranquil and intimate haven. From the sweeping tree-lined driveway, picturesque walled gardens, the
riverside gazebos, the Manor House full of luxurious period glamour and the Courtyard Mews – this venue and all its staff provide a little slice of heaven for your big day! As the venue was elegantly
decorated in line with Christmas we can only describe it as magical! We would not change a single thing
and cannot recommend Boyne Hill House and its fantastic team enough to anyone searching for their
special venue!”
